What's On in Wessex


In view of the current situation regarding "Coronovirus-19" guidelines and on advice, the Wessex committee has suspended our planned programme until further notice. This site will be updated with the latest information.

It is likely that most of the 2020 programmes will transfer to 2021 and the programme will be updated with the latest information.


Due to Medical advice the Planned Annual Garden Party has been postponed
 and transferred to August 2021. (Date when confirmed.)

The conditions imposed on the "Weald and Downland Museum" by Covid 19 restrictions only allow a very short notice advance booking period so the trip has been cancelled. It is hoped it can be carried out next year.

This meeting now cancelled due to Social distancing issues.

This RSA20 gala Weekend will take place at the Hallmark Carlton Hotel in Bournemouth.

Meet at the Chequers Inn at 11:00 p.m., Please use own cars and share with other members if possible due to parking limitations.
Assemble at the Chequers Inn car park by 11:00 p.m. where lunch can be pre-ordered.
The delightful walk is around the salt marshes at Lymington, which has an interesting history, and is a very easy walk with varying distances according to your stamina!

This is a boutique vineyard, just 10 minutes drive from the centre of Poole,
English Oak Vineyard is thriving in Dorset's beautiful countryside.

We travel by car and all meet at the Vineyard at 11:00 a.m.
The cost per person will be 15 per head which includes tastings.
 It is intended that the trip will conclude with a visit to a local Inn for lunch.

It will start at 11:00 and we hope that the weather is fine like 2019.
Details and directions will be posted nearer the time.

Scaplens Court - (which is a medieval building on Poole quay)
 - has been booked for our Christmas lunchtime meet,

It will involve mulled wine or similar with some refreshments more details later.
