Fred Bailey who founded
Baileys Electrical (F.C.BAILEY (UK) LTD) in 1954,
 died in February 2016.

Fred founded the shop in a wooden hut in Edmondshamm road. He then moved the business across the road into the vacant Crossroads Pottery Building which is currently the home of the VHHC. At this point he was joined by his brother Maurice Bailey and also by Mike Hudson. In March 1960 the Bailey family bought the Restynge House building and moved into the right hand side of the building which  had a much bigger showroom and named it "Television House". In 1989 the  Restynge House was rebuilt as it is today. It was carried out in such a way that "Television House" could continue trading, finishing on the left of the site where it remains to this day. It later became under new ownership and since 2003 has been  co-owned by Steve Upton and Steve York and continues to trade under the name of "F C Bailey" and is also in the Euronics group.

Fred in 2009 at the
Memorial Hall Celebrations.
