The Sting in the Tale 2006

presented

"Tales at the Pottery"
With Michael O’Leary

Sweeping the cobwebs from the sky
Besoms and Baskets – if we could fly.

Mike O’Leary told stories of the old woman tossed up in a basket  – ninety-nine times as high as the moon; we can all fly in a story!

The day consisted of three separate events for
juniors, families and adults.

With tales and stories based on Verwood’s history and heritage, from besoms to baskets and pots.

   

 

East Dorset Arts, Leisure, Entertainment Forum (EDALE) Members include the following Venues: Tivoli Theatre, Walford Mill Craft Centre,The Earthouse Cranborne, Moors Valley Country Park, The Layard Theatre, Artsreach, Ferndown Community Centre, Highcliffe Castle, The Regent Centre, Wimborne Tourist Information Centre, Ferndown Leisure Centre, QE Leisure Centre, The Priest House Museum. The Verwood Heathland Heritage has recently joined. This forum co-produce a free quarterly listing. If you would like to receive the `The Big Cheese` this will keep you up to date with all the exciting arts and community events taking place in the East Dorset District. the Hagstone Storyteller, with his story box,  visited the Verwood Heathland Heritage Centre on Friday the 25th of August 2006, to present "Tales at the Pottery" as part of the "Sting in the Tale" festival of Stories. Michael is supported by Southern Arts and he loves traditional stories stretching from the past to the future. The event was extremely successful and in the evening adult session he told tales to a full house.

The "Sting in the Tale" (SITT) is an East Dorset Community Event sponsored by East Dorset District Council.

For his second broadcast Mike appeared live on ForestFM during the morning "Coffee Break" on Friday the 25th August when he told a short story,
