NEWS

We have amongst us an ex-committee member of Twinning that will be receiving a very special card from the King later this month. Congratulations to Sheila Hollingsworth who is just about to celebrate her 100th birthday. I’m sure you’d all like to join us in wishing her a wonderful birthday.

Anyone wishing to join the committee? Please contact Clive (groveinaggis@yahoo.com)

Dates For Your Diary

May 2024

Thursday the 9th to the 13th of May 2024  - Verwood & 3LX Twinning Association
Verwood Twinning Association is planning a visit from our French Friends from 'Oree d'Anjou'
as part of the Twinning / Jumelage celebrations.
We are looking for about 20 beds from people who are willing to host. Please contact our chairman Clive ( groveinaggis@yahoo.com ) if you can help or would like more details.

June 2024

Saturday the 15th of June 2024  - Verwood & 3LX Twinning Association
Our German friends in Liederbach hold their "Strachenfest" (Street Festival) and numbers are likely to be limited but it is hoped that a small group will be able to visit.

What you have missed

Thank you to those members that have been able to join us back at the Socials.

Numbers have slowly been increasing since the COVID hiatus and the loss of members deciding not to return.

We are now able to start booking speakers again every few months for the social meetings, if attendance stays at a level to make this financially viable. At this point we must say a big thank you to Stuart who continues to come up trumps with some brilliant films based on local landmarks etc. keeping us all entertained. Plus, our own members contributing with their passion for music, vacation talks/slides and quizzes. I hope I haven’t forgotten anyone!

We have been busy this past couple of years fund raising at the Jubilee party, Coronation party and the Rustic Fayre, in order to be able to put on a varied and hopefully interesting programme entertaining our Twinning friends when they visit next year.
